Pointing Your Domain to HostVyx — Nameservers & DNS

4 views · Practical guide from HostVyx Support

To make your website accessible via your domain, you need to point your domain to HostVyx's servers. There are two methods:

Method 1: Change Nameservers (Recommended)

This method gives HostVyx full control over your DNS. Update your nameservers at your domain registrar to:

ns1.mmcloud.co.za
ns2.mmcloud.co.za

DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate worldwide, though it often completes within a few hours.

Method 2: Update A Records Only

If you want to keep your existing DNS provider, simply update the A record(s) to point to your HostVyx server IP address (provided in your welcome email):

  • Type: A
  • Host: @ (or yourdomain.co.za)
  • Value: YOUR_SERVER_IP_ADDRESS
  • TTL: 3600 (or lower for faster propagation)

Also add a CNAME record for www pointing to your domain.
